Overview
This afternoon symposium will be of interest to all clinicians providing care for dental patients. You will learn more about the range of techniques available to manage anxiety. Both older - inhalational sedation with nitrous oxide and about the newest intravenous agent. You will hear an update on local anaesthetic techniques from a leading expert. Facial pain is distressing condition, and you learn more about how to recognise and manage this condition.
Nonpharmacological methods of managing anxiety are important either alone or as an adjunct to other technique and you will learn from the UKs most well-known psychologist. Finally, the college has just launched a diploma in conscious sedation and you can find out how this can enhance your career from the programme lead. This will be an informative and interesting afternoon.
