NEW MASTERCLASS FORMAT
The BAETS Thyroid and Parathyroid Masterclass is now running as two consecutive days (1st and 2nd of March 2027).
Delegates who book to attend both days, please select the full fee for the Thyroid Masterclass (see prices below) and the £70.00 fee on the Parathyroid Masterclass (THE DISCOUNT IS AVAILABLE ONLY ONLY IF ATTENDING BOTH COURSES).
Please be aware that the special offer only applies to delegates who book on both courses at the same time. The college retain the right to cancel your booking if necessary.
Overview
Using case-based discussions and expert lectures, this intensive one-day workshop provides an opportunity to improve your knowledge of thyroid surgery. Delegates are encouraged to bring details of a complex case they wish to discuss. The faculty are experienced thyroid surgeons and experts from other specialities with interest in thyroid disease. The course is run in conjunction with the British Association of Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgeons (BAETS) and is part of the association’s annual masterclass.

Aims & Objectives
- Master the latest tools in thyroid diagnosis, from modern imaging and molecular testing to advanced cell analysis.
- Boost your surgical skills and improve patient safety when operating on thyroid diseases, from routine cases to complex conditions like thyrotoxicosis.
- Get updated guidelines on thyroid cancer surgery and learn how to collaborate with medical teams to treat differentiated, medullary, and anaplastic cancers.
- Explore new technologies in the field, focusing on robotic thyroid surgery and non-surgical treatments like RFA and MWA ablation.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze complex test results—including imaging and cell data—to confidently lead multi-disciplinary team (MDT) discussions.
- Master surgical safety techniques to preserve parathyroid function, control calcium balance, and integrate intraoperative nerve monitoring.
- Create evidence-based care plans using the latest guidelines to choose between traditional surgery, minimally invasive procedures, or non-surgical treatments.
