Overview

This introductory, practical half-day course provides a structured introduction to robotic-assisted surgery using the Hugo™ Robotic Assisted Surgery System. It is designed for trainees, SAS doctors and Locally Employed Doctors (LEDs) who are new to robotic surgery and combines system familiarisation, simulation, bedside/team skills and emergency procedures.

Course Format

Half-day practical sessions with small-group rotating stations covering the Hugo™ RAS system and docking, surgeon console/VR simulation, and robotic team skills including troubleshooting and emergency undocking. Teaching is formative and is intended to support safe participation and further development in robotic surgery; it does not confer independent robotic credentialing.
