We have returned from the beautiful central Scottish Highlands full of inspiration and a renewed dedication to supporting the development of remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare professionals. Rethinking Remote 2022 was a resounding success and we are already looking forward to the next conference in 2024.
The conference provided a multi-disciplinary overview of the challenges and solutions to delivering healthcare in remote and rural settings with a range of global speakers.
Rethinking Remote 2022 is the second face to face conference that the Faculty has attended since its inception. We were delighted to meet some of our Faculty members for the very first time and talk all things remote, rural and humanitarian healthcare.
We met two of our Organisation Members, including our very first Organisation Member, Interactive Health Limited allowing for some much needed conversations on future projects and activities. Watch this space and keep a look out for future updates!
We also caught up with our newest Organisation Member University of Central Lancashire and heard about their newest post graduate course, the Disaster Medicine Msc.
The Faculty were invited by the conference organising committee to deliver a workshop on the FRRHH Capabilities Framework. This workshop was well attended and provided some excellent input from a number of highly experienced remote and rural healthcare professionals. The opportunity to discuss and debate ideas in person was of huge value and has allowed the Faculty to make considerable strides in the development of this work. Rethinking Remote provided the opportunity to meet some superb new contacts and enabled a number of FRRHH Executive Committee members to have a well needed face to face catch up.
