Faculty of Remote, Rural and Humanitarian Healthcare

Improving health outcomes where resources are scarce and distances are vast

We believe that the health outcomes of individuals living and working in remote, rural, austere, and life-threatening environments across the globe can, and must, be improved. The Faculty of Remote, Rural and Humanitarian Healthcare (FRRHH) was established to address this critical need.

Remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare constitutes a distinct domain of practice, encompassing forms of care delivered outside developed urban centres. It is characterised by both the unique features of the populations served and by the constraints on service delivery, which vary over time and place.

Our vision is to establish, promote, and develop a diverse global community of healthcare professionals working across the public, private, and third sectors, across a wide range of industries. This vision is being realised by setting professional standards, accrediting training and education and advancing research.
