In a leading move, the Faculty of Remote, Rural & Humanitarian Healthcare (FRRHH) has marked a significant milestone with the initiation of its second membership phase, having invited applications for the first of its kind prestigious awards recognising excellence in the field of remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare.
This new chapter in the Faculty's history presents a long overdue opportunity for professionals in these specialised sectors to earn global recognition and acknowledgement for the vital roles they play. The Faculty, committed to advancing the status of healthcare professionals in remote and underserved areas, aims to further professionalise and champion the efforts of those dedicated to serving these communities.
Applications underwent a rigorous evaluation process, with peers assessing candidates based on the evidence provided and the individual's notable contributions to the development of remote, rural, and humanitarian healthcare. The overwhelming response to the call for applications underscored the necessity of acknowledging and honouring the professionals dedicated to these critical sectors of healthcare.
The Faculty wishes to express its delight in awarding a total of 47 Fellowships and 13 Memberships during the inaugural round of applications. The successful candidates demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise, embodying the spirit of the Faculty's mission to elevate the standards of healthcare in remote and challenging environments.
For those who missed the opportunity to apply for Membership or Fellowship during this round, the Faculty has agreed another chance to apply in summer 2024. In the interim, those interested professionals are encouraged to join FRRHH as affiliate members, providing them access to professional benefits and making them the first to be notified when the next application window for Membership and Fellowship opens.
