COVID-19 Testing and Vaccines
16th November 2020
Overview
With the recent news on a potential vaccine, our regular Monday webinar will cover various aspects of this important topic, digging into the development, production and delivery of a vaccine to the public and all the work this entails as well as a closer look at testing.
Professor Michael Griffin, RCSEd President, will introduce the panel which includes Professor Jason Leitch, National Clinical Director for the Scottish Government, who will cover the approach to COVID-19 in Scotland with testing and vaccinations, while Professor Jo Martin, President of The Royal College of Pathologists, shares expert knowledge on the study of diseases such as coronavirus and the work of vaccine programmes. Mr Steve Bagshaw, Fujifilm Diosynth non-executive Chairman and Industry Advisor to the Vaccine Task Force will also join the panel, giving us a unique insight behind the process of creating a vaccine. Manufacturing, supply chain management and distribution all have their own considerations and challenges to overcome in order to meet the demand of a solution to COVID-19.
A varied panel with expertise across the spectrum, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about how the current pandemic is unfolding and what the future could hold for us all.
