Join us for the first installment of our 3-part robotic mini series, developed by the British Hernia Society in collabortation with RCSEd, in which we will review the key facets of the rapidly evolving practice of robotic hernia surgery within the United Kingdom. This first webinar focuses on how to develop a successful robotic surgery programme within an NHS trust and then, specifically, how we can develop a robust minimally invasive hernia service.      

Aims

To provide an overview of the barriers and enablers of establishing a successful robotic hernia surgery programme within a UK NHS trust.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:

  • Understand the current barriers to implementing a sustainable robotic surgery programme within the UK, including the socioeconomic impact of such a service.
  • Develop an understanding of possible enablers of establishing a robotic surgery practice
  • Gain insight into the practical steps of setting up a robotic surgery programme, including developing a robotic hernia service
  • Learn about the current status of robotic hernia training within the UK.
