Overview

This webinar will focus on career pathway in Special Care Dentistry including the new Dental Specialty Fellowship examinations and application to specialist list by submitting a portfolio evidence application.

This webinar is being delivered in partnership with BSSCD.

Aims

  • Highlight changes in relation to Dental Specialties Fellowship examination (DSFE) including open access application to sit the examination.
  • Cover GDC application into specialist list by portfolio submission.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to know the requirements for each route aiming at the inclusion in to the specialist list in Special Care Dentistry.

Panellists

Our panellists include:

  • Sarah Buckingham - Sarah is the Clinical Director for Dentistry at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. Previous roles include working as a Consultant/Specialist in Special Care Dentistry in both primary and secondary care settings. She currently chairs the DSFE board for Special Care Dentistry and is an executive committee member of British Society of Special Care Dentistry.

  • Helen Patterson - Helen is a Consultant in Special Care Dentistry, Glasgow, Past President of British Society of Special Care Dentistry. She currently examines for the Tri-collegiate examination in Special Care Dentistry, is part of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Special Care Dentistry and is an executive committee member of British Society of Special Care Dentistry. Furthermore, she is a GDC case reviewer for applications to Specialist list via portfolio route.
