ST3 Application Preparation - General, Plastic and OMFS

18th November 2026, 19:00 to 21:15 GMT

Overview

We are excited to announce the 2026 Core Trainee Forum ST3 Application Preparation Series.

With the increasing difficulty of securing training positions, and concerns around changes to self-assessment and prioritisation, these events aim to help prospective applicants navigate the busy application process.

This webinar will focus on ST3 applications for General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with each specialty covered in a separate session:

  • 19:00 to 19:45 - General Surgery
  • 19:45 to 20:30 - Plastic Surgery
  • 20:30 to 21:15 - Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The sessions are aimed at doctors applying for Surgical Specialty Training, including Core Trainees, SHOs and Foundation Doctors.

Aims

These sessions will focus on the structure of the specialty application timeline, self-assessment and how to maximise your portfolio to help secure an interview.

The sessions will be led by clinicians with experience of the specialty application process and will consist of presentations followed by time for questions and answers.
