Update on training issues during COVID-19
4th May 2020
Overview
This latest RCSEd webinar will discuss the issues around surgical recruitment, ARCPs, and other issues from the perspective of the Chair of JCST, a Trainee Programme Director, and a Trainee.
During the session, we cover the key training issues encountered during the COVID-19 crisis as seen from the TPD perspective. Highlighting the difficult challenges faced, we also focus on the potential solutions, new opportunities, and important principles for ensuring we provide the best possible training during the ‘new normal’ as we move through the different stages of the COVID crisis.
For Trainees themselves it is an extremely challenging time. There are concerns over adequate protection, the safety of loved ones, and how as healthcare professionals we can keep our patients safe. Compounding these day to day insecurities are the anxieties surrounding their future and training.
