The value of the eLogbook to the extended surgical team

Overview
The eLogbook is an important tool originally developed to support the career progression of surgical trainees. It is equally powerful to members of the extended surgical team seeking to record their experience and professional development. This webinar will demonstrate the functions of the eLogbook with particular reference to how these can be used by members of the extended surgical team and discuss how the eLogbook can be used used to provide evidence of experience and progression.
Aims
To provide participants with a knowledge of the functions of the eLogbook and how these can be customised to provide evidence that supports the professional development of members of the extended surgical team.

- Register with logbook
- Change specialties
- Use standard reports
- Create additional data fields
- Report on additional fields
- Put together a portfolio of logbook evidence
Panellists
Our panellists include:
- Mr David F. Large F.R.C.S.Ed.(Orth.) - Mr Large is a retired consultant T&O surgeon who was a TPD and chair of the T&O SAC. He has extensive knowledge of using logbook data in training and is clinical lead for the eLogbook.
- Jeni Palima - Jeni Palima is a Senior Cardiothoracic Surgical Care Practitioner, and currently the Honorary National Secretary of ACTSCP and the SCTS NAHP Communication Lead. She recently completed her MSc in Surgical Care Practice for which she used the eLogbook.
- Mr Charles Auld - Lead for Faculty of Perioperative Care RCSEd. Consultant General Surgeon Dumfries and Galloway (retired). Previously served as member of Council RCSEd, Chair of SSB General Surgery RCSEd and also served as a member of Council ASGBI and committee member of the SAC in General Surgery.
