Vascular Surgery Careers Session
28th October 2020
Overview
The Cambridge Foundation Trainees Surgical Society and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh are delighted to present a series of virtual careers sessions on surgical subspecialties for medical students, foundation and core trainees interested in pursuing a career in surgery. Each event will explore a different surgical subspecialty, with a consultant surgeon discussing day-to-day practice within the specialty, the breadth of pathologies covered, emerging technologies and evolving techniques, rewards and challenges, as well as issues relating to work-life balance and academia.
There will also be a separate talk within each session by a senior trainee within the specialty, providing advice on application to the respective training programmes and hints and tips on a successful application with dedicated time for questions and answers at the end of each session.
Our inaugural careers session will will cover the exciting subspecialty of Vascular Surgery, featuring Consultant Vascular Surgeon Miss Diane Hildebrand, and Mr Shanka Benaragama, Registrar in Vascular Surgery at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. We look forward to your participation!
