What do neurosurgeons do and how to become one?

14th December 2020

Overview

The Cambridge Foundation Trainees Surgical Society and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh are delighted to present a series of virtual careers sessions on surgical subspecialties for medical students, foundation and core trainees interested in pursuing a career in surgery. Each event will explore a different surgical subspecialty, with a consultant surgeon discussing day-to-day practice within the specialty, the breadth of pathologies covered, emerging technologies and evolving techniques, rewards and challenges, as well as issues relating to work-life balance and academia.

There will also be a separate talk within each session by a senior trainee within the specialty, providing advice on application to the respective training programmes and hints and tips on a successful application with dedicated time for questions and answers at the end of each session.

Join us for our next careers session on Monday 14th December 2020 at 19:00 GMT when we will be covering the exciting subspecialty of Neurosurgery featuring Consultant Neurosurgeon Mr Tom Santarius, and Mr Mike Hart, a Senior Neurosurgical Trainee currently doing a Neurosurgery fellowship in Canada. We look forward to your participation!
