Breast MDT

Overview
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh along with the Association of Surgeons of India are hosting a Webinar series of mock Multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) in a variety of clinical settings. These are free for all to attend and they will draw experts from India and the UK to make these sessions, interactive, informative and enjoyable, so do join us. This webinar series is being led by Miss Leena Chagla, Consultant surgeon and RCSEd Council member.
This first webinar in the series is also in collaboration with the Global Health Committee of the Association of Breast Surgery in UK.
Aims
To present anonymous historic MDT cases to provide education, shared experience and latest evidence from experts in the field.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, participants should understand the purpose of MDT, how it is run and have learnt something related to the clinical scenarios presented.

Nisha Sharma – Dr Nisha Sharma is Director of the breast screening programme for Leeds and Wakefield and a consultant breast radiologist. She is co-chair of the Breast Research, Innovation and Development Access Committee (RIDAC) for England. She developed the UK breast screening guidelines on how to manage high risk lesions and is audit lead for the British Society of Radiology.

Abeer Shaaban – Consultant Pathologist, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Honorary Professor, Cancer and Genomic Sciences, University of Birmingham, Professional Clinical Advisor (Pathology), NHS Breast Screening Programme.

Ruth James – Surgeon, RCSEd fellow and Chair of ABS Global Health committee
- David Dodwell - Senior clinical oncologist working in Oxford Population Health in The University of Oxford. 20+ year special interest in the management of breast cancer. He is co-oncology lead for the new national breast cancer audits, is involved in many epidemiological studies in breast cancer and works within The Early Breast Cancer Trialists’ Collaborative Group (EBCTCG).

- Miss Leena Chagla (Moderator) - Leena Chagla is the immediate Past-President of the Association of Breast Surgery, UK. She is also on the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She heads the breast unit at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals which is actively involved in clinical innovation and trials. She continues to publish regularly in peer reviewed journals.
