Overview
While covering the basic anatomy and physiology of the anorectum we will discuss rectal prolapse, incontinence, as well as acute painful peri-anal conditions.
Aims
This webinar will cover anorectal disorders and their management.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:
- Be able to diagnose and manage acute peri-anal conditions.
- Understand the anatomy and physiology that is responsible for faecal continence
- Explain the pathophysiology and management of rectal prolapse and faecal incontinence
- Apply knowledge to FRCS-style clinical and viva questions on anorectal disorders, demonstrating structured responses and critical reasoning.

Mahua is a general surgeon specialising in colorectal cancer and pelvic floor disease, working in Wishaw General Hospital in the west of Scotland.
