Overview

Learn how to manage a jaundiced surgical patient from the experts! This webinar will discuss the investigation and management of benign and malignant causes of jaundice using case studies from actual patients. The knowledge gained in this session will be invaluable for medical students and junior doctors alike.

Panellists

Mr Arjun Takhar

Mr Arjun Takhar graduated from the University of Nottingham in 1998. he holds a PhD by thesis in Gastrointestinal Surgery from the Academic Unit of Cancer Studies at the University of Nottingham. He completed his higher surgical training with specialisation in HPB Surgery and Liver Transplantation followed by a Fellowship in Laparoscopic HPB surgery. Mr Takhar’s interests lie in locally advanced pancreatic tumours. His team is the first in the UK to treat these tumours with surgery and intra-operative radiotherapy. He also has an interest in multi-visceral resections, hilar cholangiocarcinoma surgery and minimally invasive liver surgery. Mr Takhar is a Regional Surgical Advisor for Wessex and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Southampton University Medical School where he is the Year 3 Lead for Surgery.

Mr V Chidambaram-Nathan

Chidambaram-Nathan is a Consultant Surgeon in Renal Transplant and General Surgeon at Sheffield Kidney Institute, Northern General Sheffield. He is a fellow of RCSEd and RSCEng and interested in teaching and training. He is also a RSA, and has been on diet of examiners for intercollegiate MRCS and Instructor in courses such as CCrISP. He is also an Hon Senior Lecturer in School of Medicine, University of Sheffield.
