This webinar, aimed at Doctors in training, will focus on the presentation and management of acute colitis, using case scenarios as examples.

Panellists
Mr Bruce George
Bruce George is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Chief examiner in Surgery at the University of Oxford. He qualified from St. Bartholomew’s Medical College, London in 1984 and trained in surgery in London, Paris and Oxford. During his training he was awarded the Moynihan Prize of the Associations of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and the Arris and Gale Lectureship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England for research on the treatment of faecal incontinence. His major clinical interests are the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease, rare abdominal tumours and complex abdominal fistulae.
Mr Mike Silva
Michael Silva is a Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic (HPB) and General Surgeon at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Silva is the Training Programme Director for Higher Surgical Trainees (General Surgery) in the Oxford Deanery and also is Director of the Surgical Advisory Network in the UK for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was a Regional Surgical Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for Oxfordshire from 2013-2017. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is also a Clinical Lecturer at Worcester College, Oxford University. Mr Silva is specialist advisor to the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), interventional procedures program and is on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Surgery (Open) and Current Surgery Reports.
