Overview
This webinar will discuss the presenting features and management of cystic lesions of the pancreas, and explore the clinical, biochemical and radiological criteria used for diagnosis of pancreatic cysts.

Miss Anita Balakrishnan PhD FRCS
Miss Anita Balakrishnan is a Consultant Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgeon at the Cambridge HPB Unit, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Associate Lecturer at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She graduated with a BMedSci (1st Class Honours) and BMBS from the University of Nottingham and trained in HPB Surgery in Cambridge. Her PhD research was performed at Harvard Medical School and was awarded the Hunterian Professorship. As an Academic Clinical Lecturer with the University of Cambridge she was awarded a grant by the Wellcome Trust for her research into the mechanisms behind the development of pancreatic cancer. Her research interests centre around the early detection and treatment of pancreatic cancer. She is currently Chief Investigator of a national multicentre study exploring risk stratification for premalignant pancreatic cysts and sits on the Scientific and Research Committee of the European African Hepatopancreatobiliary Association.
Mr Michael Silva
Michael Silva is a Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic (HPB) and General Surgeon at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Silva is the Training Programme Director for Higher Surgical Trainees (General Surgery) in the Oxford Deanery - Health Education England - Thames Valley.
Mr Silva is Director of the Surgical Advisory Network in the UK for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also was Regional Surgical Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for Oxfordshire from 2013-2017. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is also a Clinical Lecturer at Worcester College, Oxford University.
