Attribution and Alternative Career Pathways for SASLED Surgeons

Overview
There are many grades of doctors working within the NHS who might have chosen to not pursue the routes to becoming substantive Consultant. There are several avenues available to this cohort of doctors to work towards a professionally satisfying career within the NHS. The aim of this webinar is explain in detail these alternative career pathways to achieve recognition of their clinical productivity and to thereby establish a fulfilling career in the NHS.
Aims
- Participants will be advised about available career progression pathways within the NHS that are available for career development of SAS & LE Doctors.
- Practical tips will be made available to participants which will help them make informed decisions about:
a) how to develop their professional careers with reference to the Autonomous Toolkit launched by RCSEd 22 Apr 2024, and,
b) practical steps to becoming Specialists and Locally Employed Consultants. - Participants will be provided an update about how the goals of Attribution can be achieved through the NHS initiatives of CDS ver 6.3 and NCIP.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:
- Appreciate the alternative career pathways that are available in the NHS.
- Map their current circumstances to the available options and decide which avenue they would like to pursue for career progression.
- Understand the current status of efforts in the NHS to enable Attribution of clinical work delivered by SAS and LE Doctors.
