Clinical Interest Groups - Consolidating national experience in Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

5th April 2027, 19:00 to 20:00 BST

Overview

In September 2025, with the support of the Vascular Society Audit committee, a group of interested clinicians set up a regular remote meeting with the mission to improve clinical decision making in TOS, through sharing experience, education, supporting research and improving governance. To date the group has met 11 times to discuss clinical cases, hear educational presentations, formulate Patient Information Sheets and write over 40 consensus statements. The group now boasts over 70 members from multiple specialities. This is a narrative of the groups evolution and an example for other areas of sub-speciality interest to follow.

Aims

We will explore the challenges of setting up the group and include discussion round the potential to develop and support clinical governance around rare disorders that are potentially treated by single operators in a centre.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants should be able to consider how they would manage this disorder or how they might set up a specialist interest group within their specialty organisation.
